M. Nazrul Islam Tamiji is a human rights and social science activist working in development field since last 24 years. He is the Founder and Chairman of National Human Rights Society which is an organisation about human rights,citizen Rights,gender equality,equity, secularism,rule of law,good governess,social justice,democracy and legal aid established in Bangladesh in 2001. NHRS supports around 50,000 people through 31 centers in 21 districts. Total 55 Staffs are working in NHRS.

He is Founder Chairman of Bangladesh Law Foundation.

He is President of Bangladesh Nari Kallyan Foundation (BNKF).

He has chaired different national conferences and also arrange a lot of seminar to build up public awareness .

He anchors a lot of program. Many TV Channel has broadcasted her interviews or lectures.

He was working as an executive editor in The Daily Bangla, as a deputy editor in The Daily Gonokontha,
as an executive editor The Daily Azad Bani. He was also working in The Daily Amader Somoy, The Daily Vorer Kagoz,The Daily Comillar Dak etc.

He was Editor of The Weekly Rosnamsa, The Weekly Ak Dui Tin,The Fortnightly Aboshor,The Fortnightly Sangbad Prateek,

Tamiji Nazrul has written 61 plays for stage, radio and television. He has directed several of them in stage.

He has written several novels,poems,

Tamiji Nazrul received Dr Muhammad Shahidullah Award in 2004,Mother Teresa Award in 2006,Sher E Bangla Award in 2007.

Bangladesh Poribesh Manobadhikar Bastobayon Society honored him as one of the outstanding playwrights(অসামান্য নাট্যকার) in 2009 held at Bangladesh Shisu Academy.
